Thousands of runners took to the streets on Sunday 18th September, for the Great North Run.
Among the elite athletes, club runners and a few famous faces was the team from Thameslink Rail Systems, joined by our own Construction Director – Shane O’Halloran and Commercial Manager – Gary O’Halloran.
The weather was ideal for the runners. Despite the odd heavy shower in the middle of the race I think most of the runners appreciated the cooling shower. The Bupa Great North Run is the world’s largest half marathon, with the participants running between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields.
Everybody that took part completed the 13.1 miles and raised a huge amount for Cancer Research UK.

Shane O’Halloran completed the race with a time of 01:36. Gary O’Halloran completed the race shortly after with a fantastic time of 01:46.
