BCM Construction were contracted to construct piled foundations along the top of the embankment and in the 10ft at Luton station from pre-approved designs provided by Network Rail.
OLE Piling was carried out under slow and fast line possessions for the new OLE structures and Signal Gantry, allowing for new track alignment and platform extensions. Hollow tubular steel pipes were driven from on-track plant during engineering possessions.
At the location where the piles were bored, an area of ground was excavated at the agreed depth ready for the pile cap. Temporary works were then installed to support the ballast shoulder.
After the installation of the pile cap form work, steel work and holding down bolts were installed and concreted.
