Power Systems: Highways

Our Enable Power Systems teams are often called upon to support the civils work undertaken by Enable Infrastructure in our highways programmes. With cabling a major consideration in projects ranging from motorways to main roads in urban areas, the transferable skills developed by Enable Power Systems over long years in the rail sector often prove invaluable.

Power Systems: Public Sector

Our Enable Power Systems find themselves increasingly in demand for projects in the public sector, where they enjoy a growing reputation for completing complex works to the highest standards. We are frequently involved in the delivery of power systems solutions for local authorities and other local and national public bodies through our Crown Commercial Services (CCS) contracts. For example, we provided new power supplies for an NHS Trust in Milton Keynes under the CCS framework.

Power Systems: Renewables

Enable Infrastructure are increasingly engaged in the dynamic renewables sector.

We are proud to be at the forefront of the fast-expanding Electric Vehicle (EV) charging market. We are heavily involved in the complex task of installing forecourt EV charging points alongside existing infrastructure in a national network of petrol stations. As a NICEIC-approved company, Enable Power Systems can certify the works prior to connection to the DNO network.

Power Systems: Rail

Enable Infrastructure and our Enable Power Systems teams have more than 30 years’ experience in the rail sector. In fact, Enable Power Systems have played some part in almost every major power upgrade on UK railways over the past 20 years, mostly involving High Voltage distribution.

We are a Principal Contractor for Network Rail and Transport for London and hold numerous accreditations – including NICEIC, ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 and Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) five-star rating.

Power Systems: Utilities

Enable Infrastructure is registered with the utilities sector’s under the UVDB qualification system, and has agreed frameworks with infrastructure owners and major distribution network operators (DNOs) to deliver safe, efficient, and innovative power solutions associated with utility networks. We have supported the power-associated works for the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station in Somerset.

Our Enable Power Systems teams have installed, tested; and commissioned HV power assets including HV/LV distribution schemes, enhancing and future–proofing local utility networks.
