Stoptober, the 28-day stop smoking campaign from Public Health England. This year, Stoptober encourages smokers to find the most suitable support for them, rather than trying to go “cold turkey”.

Rail Partnership Awards: BCM win “Driving Efficiencies” category and Runner Up for Community Engagement and SME of The Year
BCM won the “Driving Efficiencies” category for the ENABLE Consortium at the Rail Partnership Awards 2018 and achieved 2 Runner Up Awards for the BCM Cable Drum Tables in Community Engagement and SME of the Year.
The winners of Network Rail’s Sussex Sustainability Awards were announced on Friday 18th May in Brighton. The SME BCM Construction are very pleased to have received a win and two highly commended awards against McNicholas and Siemens.
Extending our Cable Drum initiative and community engagement commitments, we have successfully delivered a further 2 cable drum tables to the Jubilee Primary School in Brixton!

What is Construction Route to Gold? Route to Gold is a performance measurement initiative within the IP Southern supply chain. The initiative aims to promote collaborative working behaviours, reduce costs caused by re-work and embed a culture of continuous improvement within the rail industry.
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators. FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance.

BCM Construction, Network Rail IP Southern Team, Crewit and Glenamaddy came together to complete volunteer work at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. The 27-strong team carried out the renovation of the gravel path used as a walking route for the homeless and unwanted dogs at the Home. The pathway is now a glorious garden walkway at the iconic London site – see pictures below of the transformation.
BCM are reducing, reusing and recycling with the introduction of our refillable water bottles for all staff and site teams! This significantly reduces the environmental impact of plastic cups – which contribute 79% to the world’s plastic found in landfills. The bottle is functional, lightweight and complete with a ‘hydration scale’ – encouraging you to drink approximately 2 litres of water a day (as per UK health guidelines) to reduce fatigue and improve health.
BCM Construction Ltd is a winner at the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards 2017. The company, based in London, achieved the Gold award in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Rail Electrification Contractor BCM has been heavily involved in the development of a Southern Shield briefing on Electrical Hazard Awareness. This is an initiative designed to respond to the high level of close calls experienced in the Southern Region under the Electrical Safety Category.
