On Wednesday 4th March 2020, BCM volunteered for the National trust at Denbies Hillside, in Dorking, Surrey. Owned and managed by the National Trust, Denbies Hillside is in a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is an excellent example of chalk grassland which is very rare in north west Europe.

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators. FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance.

BCM Construction, Network Rail IP Southern Team, Crewit and Glenamaddy came together to complete volunteer work at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. The 27-strong team carried out the renovation of the gravel path used as a walking route for the homeless and unwanted dogs at the Home. The pathway is now a glorious garden walkway at the iconic London site – see pictures below of the transformation.
BCM are reducing, reusing and recycling with the introduction of our refillable water bottles for all staff and site teams! This significantly reduces the environmental impact of plastic cups – which contribute 79% to the world’s plastic found in landfills. The bottle is functional, lightweight and complete with a ‘hydration scale’ – encouraging you to drink approximately 2 litres of water a day (as per UK health guidelines) to reduce fatigue and improve health.
